Sun 6 Sep 2026 is Amersham Heritage Day, an annual event organised by Amersham Town Council. As usual, it will be a fun-filled family day out where Amersham celebrates its rich heritage. From 11.30am to 5.30pm, visitors to the Old Town can enjoy a wide variety of activities, including children’s funfair rides, classic car displays, a vintage farmers’ market, heritage bus journeys and much more.
To facilitate this event, Buckinghamshire Council has granted permission for the following road closures from 7.00am to 7.30pm on the day:
- High Street (from Mill Lane to the Market Hall)
- Market Square
- The Broadway (from St Mary’s Court)
- Church Street (from School Lane)
- Whielden Street (from No. 8 to Market Square)
Mill Lane and School Lane will remain open throughout the day. Special arrangements have also been made for access and parking:
- Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
- Resident driveway access will be permitted but marshalled for safety, which may result in delays.
- Free parking will be available at Barn Meadow from 7.00am.
