At the Society’s Annual General Meeting held in the Kings Chapel on Mon 26 Oct 2026 the five current Committee members were re-elected.
They are Peter Borrows, John Catton, Geraldine Marshall-Andrew, Elena Morgan, John Morgan. There were no new nominations. To see a full list of the Society’s officers, their roles and vacant positions please click here.
In the Chair’s Annual Report, Edward Copisarow thanked the Committee, volunteers, and members for their dedicated work and support over the past year. He also announced that both he and Yvonne Suckling are retiring after many years of service:
I need to thank a retiree for valiant service: Yvonne Suckling succeeded Dorothy Symes as our events committee chair, put together the whole of the programme for 2026 and has now finalised the programme for 2027 …
I, too, will be stepping down from the Committee after 12 years, including four years as Vice Chair and the last three as Chair. I’m pleased to report that I’m passing the baton to John Catton with the Society in excellent shape, needing only a surge in enthusiastic additional volunteers, poised to take on anything from a single task to a role on the Committee.
Many thanks to everyone for their support during my time on the Committee and I look forward to continuing to enjoy the activities and fellowship of the Society in the years ahead.
