The ePetition “Allow Public Planning Comments to be viewed by all” has been launched by a local resident to challenge Buckinghamshire Council’s decision to stop publishing individual public comments on its website. The Council implemented this policy change on 18 March 2025, citing data protection and GDPR compliance following previous data breaches.
If you believe that public comments and representations should remain visible alongside planning documents on the Council’s Public Access site, this is your chance to have your say. To protect personal privacy under GDPR, the Council would need to obscure sensitive personal data, such as signatures, phone numbers, and email addresses, rather than hiding the comments entirely.
