Mary of Teck married Prince George, later King George V, in 1893. She became Princess of Wales in 1901, Queen consort in 1910 and Queen mother in 1936. Her charitable work, particularly during the First World War, helped to make her popular with all classes of British society.
The talk is by Jamie Carter, an amateur historian who has had an interest in the Royal Family since a young age.
Coffee/tea and biscuits will be available from 7.30pm. The talk starts at 8.00pm. No booking necessary. Guests and new members welcome.
