After confusing parking suspension signs appeared along the High St in Old Amersham prior to the Drainage Works starting on Mon 4 Sep 2023, Buckinghamshire Highways issued another letter clarifying the alternative parking arrangements. In short, they are:-
- There will be no ‘blanket ban’ on parking on the High St. A rolling suspension will be implemented by posting signs stating the maximum extent of time the parking could be suspended, should it be required to accommodate the works.
- Residents are able to apply for a permit to free parking in the Amersham Old Town car park for the full duration of the works. Please email at parking.services@buckinghamshire.gov.uk with your name, address, contact details, registration number, and car model/colour.
- For both Heritage Day and the Charter Fair the road will be cleared with no equipment or open drainage works left on the High St.
